It’s been about 8 months since our album ‘Canto Para Gritar’ was released. ‘Leon‘ became the first single and now that the video has reached almost 5,000 views on YouTube, we feel it’s time to make a new video for our second single ‘Que Sera’!

The new video will consist of two parts. Part two is still a secret for now, but part one is pretty simple: as we love the energy of the crowd whenever we play live, we’ve decided to shoot this part of the video during a full-length TenTemPiés concert at an intimate location in Amsterdam. For free of course!

So, we hereby invite YOU to join us at our concert-slash-video-shoot on Friday 24th of February. The location: Cafe De Doos at Weesperstraat 59 in Amsterdam. The doors will open at 21:00, our show starts at 21:30! Please note that De Doos is not that big (about 80-100 people fit in) so please make sure you get there before 21:30 to ensure your spot!

After the concert we’re getting our party on with everyone at De Doos! And if you already know about parties at De Doos, you’ll have an idea of what to expect Friday the 24th. It might get a little bit crazy;)

Last month we set out to play some shows in Germany. It was really something else. We went from a big awesome night club with freaky decoration in Berlin to a small venue in the middle of snowy Lichtenau, to a cavern cafe for the underground scene in Chemnitz near the eastern border. We were very happy our music was received so well by our German audiences, we can’t wait to go back!

Off to Germany!

It’s something we’ve been planning to do for a while, and now it’s official: on January 19th we’ll hop in the van and drive off to Germany!

We’ll be crossing the borders for the first time to do a mini tour in Germany, a nice three-show weekend from January 19th till the 21st, starting in Berlin. No doubt that there’s quite an adventure for us up ahead, and we will do our best to keep you up to date about it through Facebook and Twitter.

This is the first of many tours to come. 2011 was a great year for us, seeing our debut album come to life, playing a lot of shows and meeting great people on the way. We’re determined to make 2012 even better! For now, from us all, we thank you for taking your time to listen to our music, come to our shows and to get to know us personally. We wish you all a happy new year!

Our first time playing the main hall of Paradiso, Amsterdam.. It was really something else. On December 11th we performed there as the support act for Ojos de Brujo at their final concert in Europe. In short it was a wonderful experience. Below are some pictures of that show.

Last show of 2011: La Pegatina & TenTemPiés at Tivoli

Last weekend was amazing. We opened for Ojos de Brujo in the main concert hall of Paradiso, which was their last concert ever in Europe. It was also officially our 50th show of 2011! Proud of that! Plans are already looking good for 2012: we’re set on releasing our second single of our debut album Canto Para Gritar in Februari. Perquisite made a beautiful remix and we can’t wait to let you hear it. And there are requests coming in from some very cool summer festivals.. But before that we’ll be doing a mini tour of Germany in mid-January! More on that soon.

This Saturday the 17th of December marks our very last show of 2011 at Tivoli Oudegracht in Utrecht! We’re the support act for La Pegatina, Spanish heavyweights that had the Dutch audience wanting more and more ever since that spectacular show at Lowlands 2009. They’re back again this month to present their latest release Xapomelön. Tickets for the concert at Tivoli Oudegracht can be bought right here!

The tickets are going fast, but for our most dedicated fans we have two guestlist spots available! Interested? Dec 11: Supporting Ojos de Brujo in Paradiso

Dear friends! End of this week, Sunday the 11th of December, we are the support act for none other than Barcelona superband Ojos de Brujo! What makes this concert even more special is that it might be the last chance you’ll ever have of seeing this group perform live. After 10 years of making musica mestiza at the highest level (or ‘Jip Jop Flamenkillo’ as they call their style), 5 albums and no less than 7 world tours, Ojos de Brujo has decided to stop. Paradiso will be the final venue in The Netherlands they’ll perform in.

New video: Perquisite & Maurino Alarcón – Me Despido

Today marks the release of a new video clip. Not of a TenTemPiés song, but a collaboration between the excellent Dutch producer Perquisite and our lead singer Maurino. For those who haven’t heard about this project before, it’s part of Perquisite’s solo album ‘Across’ which was released last year. The song is appropriately called ‘Me Despido’ (I Say Goodbye), as it is also the last single from that album (available on iTunes).

While in the desert of Tabernas in Spain for another clip shoot, they decided to shoot a one-take video for this song. It turned out really well! The video was made by Derek van Egmond and Ruben Wiegerinck, the same guys who made the video for ‘Leon’. So without further ado, just press play!

PS. Be sure to catch the last ‘Across’ tour show on December 29th at MC Theater, Amsterdam. Maurino will be there as well as several other guest musicians.

So we kicked off the new cultural season with a show at the Uitmarkt in Amsterdam on August 27th. It was cloudy and raining when we started playing, but halfway through a few sunrays appeared and umbrellas went down. We had the honour of having the talented trumpet player Randell Heye join us for this concert.

Our good friend Julio Flórez, an excellent photographer from Colombia, was in town and shot some very nice pictures of the concert. Check them out below.

Coming to your town!

As we’ve mentioned before we have been selected as one of the 100 Dutch bands that will participate in the Popronde 2011, a travelling music festival. A selection of fresh up-and-coming bands will get the chance to perform outside of their region and effectively expand their network and fanbase. This year the Popronde will take place in 27 cities throughout The Netherlands, from september till november.

This weekend our first Popronde gig is going to take place in Nijmegen. Below you can find our Popronde gig list so far. We hope to see you at one of our shows when we’re coming to your town! More dates coming in soon.
