With the release of our new video and single ‘Nada Te Pido’, we hereby give you the very first preview of our upcoming EP ‘A Casa Tierra’! We’ve been working on this EP for several months in the deepest of secrets (not really, but it just sounds cooler), and we’re now very proud to announce that it will be officially presented on April 18th at music venue Bitterzoet in Amsterdam. But wait.. there’s more! Before the EP launch we will first embark on a journey we’ve been dreaming of since the band got started: on March 6th we’re crossing the ocean to go on tour in Chile!

The video

The video of ‘Nada Te Pido’ is the result of many hours of handicraft, built up from hand-painted illustrations, clippings and photography by our own guitarist Jouke Schwarz. The illustrations are based on old video footage shot during some of our live shows, and the final montage was done by Maarten Rots.

On tour in Chile

2012 has been a very good year for us with performances at large festivals like Dunya, Mundial and Oerol and tours through Germany, France and Spain. In just a week from now we’re going on our third tour abroad, but this time to beautiful Chile to explore our musical roots in the motherland of our frontman Maurino. As you may know, this year it is also exactly 40 years since the coup against Salvador Allende, causing the parents of Maurino to flee the country and settle here in The Netherlands. For us, and our music, this has been an important historical event, shaping the identity of what has eventually become TenTemPiés.

‘A Casa Tierra’

Upon our return in Amsterdam, we will present our new EP ‘A Casa Tierra’ on April 18th in music venue Bitterzoet. The EP was recorded and mixed by Dougal Hallowes and Maurino, for the mastering we turned to Andrew Baldwin (The Who, The Orb, Hidden Orchestra) at the famous Metropolis Studios in London. We can’t wait to let you hear the whole EP, but for now let’s start with ‘Nada Te Pido’!

As we really love festivals we’ve chosen Oerol as the scenario for the new video. Dynamic duo Ruben Wiegerinck and Derek van Egmond, who were also responsible for ‘Leon‘, shot the video last June on a nice summer’s day at Terschelling. A big thanks go out to them and to everyone that participated in the video, spending a beautiful day together with us! View the result below:

Together with the single and video we also present the official remix made by our friend and great Dutch producer Perquisite. After working together with Maurino on his single ‘Me Despido‘ (Unexpected Records, 2011), Perquisite took ‘Que Sera’ and composed his own unique interpretation, blending traditional South-American/Andean sounds with his own distinctive musical style. On October 18th we’ll hop in our van again and head south, kicking off the ‘Al Sur Tur’ with a show in Villeneuve d’Ascq together with French reggae rock band La Familya. From there we head out for a loooooong drive to Spain to play at the beach of Gandía (in Mala Vida) and after that at the recently opened Belushi’s location in the middle of downtown Barcelona, also one of our sponsors this tour. After that we travel north again to play a show at Luzeret, France before heading back to Amsterdam. Catch all the dates below, and if you happen to be nearby we hope to see you at one of the shows!
